Kathi Small
Mission:
The Evangelical Alliance Mission
Location: Peru
Kathi Small serves with the Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) in
Arequipa, Peru. She serves at the El Camino Church, a recent church
plant begun by missionaries, where she helps train teachers and leaders.
In 1992 Kathi went to Venezuela to teach at a school for missionary
children. She taught Bible classes and was an educational therapist in
the learning disabilities program at Christiansen Academy in Rubio, a
small town in the Andes Mountains. In the community, she taught English
as a Second Language classes and was involved in her local church.
Sensing God's leading toward full-time service, Kathi returned to the
U.S. two years later to prepare for a full-time missions career among
the people of Venezuela. She studied at Columbia Biblical Seminary
School of Missions for two years and attended language school in Costa
Rica. Finally, in 1998 she arrived in eastern Venezuela to begin
ministry with the Dios es Amor Church. Until November 2005 she served
this church by mentoring women, developing curriculum, teaching and
helping to train teachers. In May 2006, Kathi moved to Arequipa, Peru to
begin her current ministry. Kathi grew up in Indianapolis and has been a
member of Faith Church since 1986. |
